history
DKR as a team
DKR Engineering was founded in 2004 by Kendy Janclaes.
In 2006 and 2007, DKR Engineering used various Corvette models from the GT1 group for the Belgian PSI Experience team . In both years it was mainly driven in the French GT championship and some sporadic appearances in the FIA GT series . In 2006 PSI Experience also contested the European Le Mans Series and was able to achieve third place in the 1000 km race in Spa-Francorchamps as the best result. PSI Experience's best result was a runner-up in the FIA GT Championship at Circuit Paul Ricard in 2007 .
In 2006, PSI Experience finished fifth with a Corvette C6.R under the direction of DKR Engineering at the first start of the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race . In 2007 PSI did not compete in the 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps, but in the one in Le Mans . DKR returned to Le Mans in 2010 and took over the use of a Corvette with the mention of Luc Alphand Aventures in the 24-hour race .
After the end of the GT1 group, DKR Engineering was no longer able to use its Corvette vehicles and in 2012 supported the Race Art team in the Blancpain Endurance Series and Vita4one in the FIA GT1 World Championship using BMW Z4 GT3 vehicles .
DKR as an independent team
From 2008, DKR Engineering started using the C5-R and C6.R models of the GT1 Corvette under its own name . The involvement in the French GT championship was continued and sporadic appearances in the FIA GT championship continued.
2009 was the most successful year in the team's history: Eric Debard became champion of the French GT Championship and the team came first with five wins in the team standings. In the first race of the FIA GT Championship of the season , DKR competed under its own name and achieved third place with Xavier Maassen and Guillaume Moreau . After a two-race break, the team returned as Sangari Team Brazil , the first Brazilian team to compete in the FIA GT Championship. Enrique Bernoldi and Roberto Streit were the second most successful driver pairing in the second half of the season with a season win at the Circuit Paul Ricard and a third place at the Hungaroring as well as two fourth places.
DKR in the FIA GT1 World Championship
For the newly announced FIA GT1 World Championship, DKR cooperated with the Belgian Selleslagh Racing Team (SRT) in order to be able to provide the two vehicles per team required by the regulations. Both teams each provided a Corvette C6.R of the GT1 category and entered the championship under the name Mad-Croc Racing . In the DKR car, the Dutch Xavier Maassen and Jos Menten achieved the only pole position and the only victory for the team at Spa-Francorchamps .
2011 After the second Lamborghini Swiss Racing Team withdrew prematurely from the championship, DKR, with the support and funding of Münnich Motorsport, deployed two Murciélago LP670 R-SVs under the name DKR www-discount.de to get the necessary number of starters at the to guarantee remaining overseas races. In addition to the two Lamborghinis, the Corvette C6.R from DKR was still used - now together with the other Corvette from SRT under the name Exim Bank Team China and the corresponding start number 12. The vehicle was already in the paintwork of the last European race in France Exim Bank China was launched, but remained under the name of DKR.
