Gran Turismo

At the end of 2003, Patrick Selleslagh was the first private buyer of a Corvette C5-R according to the specification of the GT1 group . In 2004 the Selleslagh team was active in the Belgian GT championship, but could not achieve a victory. In 2005 SRT won five times and won the Belcar GT Cup title with Marc Goossens . The victories in the Belgian championship also included winning the 24-hour race in Zolder . In the 24-hour race of Spa-Francorchamps , which was part of the FIA GT championship , SRT took eighth place.

For the 2006 season, SRT acquired another Corvette C5-R and used both vehicles in the French GT championship. At the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race in the same year, SRT competed as Renstal Excelsior , but only achieved 41st place and was therefore not classified.

In 2007, one Corvette stayed in the French GT Championship while the other moved to the FIA GT Championship. There Tom Cloet won the Citation Cup for amateurs three times. At the 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps, the quartet of drivers Marc Duez, Damien Coens, Maxime Soulet and Steve Van Bellingen achieved tenth place in the overall classification.

In 2008, SRT launched a Corvette C6.R for the first time . The team took part in the FIA GT Championship and scored a victory with Christophe Bouchut and Xavier Maassen . For the 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps, Maxime Soulet and Christophe Pillon complemented the regular drivers Bouchut and Maassen. The SRT Corvette was the first vehicle to retire and finished the race again in 41st place. For the season finale of the FIA GT Championship in Argentina , the drivers were swapped so that Maxime Soulet, Armand Fumal and Christian Ledesma achieved third place for SRT.

In 2009 SRT not only competed in the FIA GT championship, but also again in the French championship. Bert Longin and GT3 European Champion James Ruffier achieved third place in the drivers' championship in the FIA GT Championship. The team also took the same place. At the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps, Maxime Soulet and Corvette works driver Oliver Gavin expanded the team that was classified in 15th place.

At the 2010 Le Mans 24-hour race , SRT entered its Corvette with the mention of "Luc Alphand Aventures". Stéphan Grégoire , Jérôme Policand and David Hart finished the race in fifteenth and second place overall in the GT1 category.

FIA GT1 World Championship

For the newly announced FIA GT1 World Championship, SRT cooperated with the Luxembourg team DKR Engineering in order to be able to provide the two vehicles per team required by the regulations. In 2010 , both teams presented a Corvette C6.R of the GT1 category and entered the championship under the name Mad-Croc Racing .

Before the 2011 season , Mad-Croc Racing was dissolved again. In the FIA GT World Championship, SRT competed with the Chinese as Exim Bank Team China with a Corvette C6.R. The Dutch duo Mike Hezemans and Nicky Catsburg began the season that was later marked by many driver changes. The most successful driver pairings were Mike Hezemans and Andreas Zuber , who finished third in both races at Silverstone , as well as Yelmer Buurman and Francesco Pastorelli, who won both races on the final weekend as newcomers.

For the events in China and Argentina, the Corvette from DKR Engineering was officially integrated into the team, but was still looked after by the Luxembourg team.

The final of the FIA GT1 World Championship 2011 was SRT's last race for the foreseeable future - at least that's what team boss Patrick Selleslagh said.
