Dagmar Borrmann , also Dagmar Fischborn (born July 24, 1955 in Dresden ) is a German dramaturge and university professor .

Life

Dagmar Borrmann grew up in Dresden and studied theater studies at the Leipzig Theater Academy . In 1985 she received her doctorate from the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1984 to 1990 Dagmar Borrmann was chief dramaturge at the Thalia Theater (Halle) and from 1990 to 1995 worked as a dramaturge at the Schauspiel Leipzig . From 1995 to 2002 she was chief dramaturge and deputy director for the artistic division at this theater. The German Literature Institute in Leipzig appointed her guest professor for scenic writing in 2002 . From 2004 to 2014 Dagmar Borrmann worked as a dramaturge and member of the acting management at the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden .

As a production dramaturge, she accompanied over 100 productions (including numerous world premieres) and curated new scenic formats. She worked u. a. with the directors Konstanze Lauterbach , Wolfgang Engel , Herbert Fritsch , Armin Petras , Andreas Dresen , Hermann Schmidt-Rahmer , Markus Dietz, Manfred Beilharz , Dietrich Hilsdorf , Tilman Gersch , David Mouchtar-Samorai and Alexander Lang .

Dagmar Borrmann has published numerous articles and essays, particularly on drama and contemporary theater. Her theater adaptation of the novel Trace of Stones by Erik Neutsch was premiered in September 2014 at the Magdeburg Theater. Her play Kruso, based on the novel of the same name by Lutz Seiler , also had its world premiere in September 2015 in Magdeburg .

Dagmar Borrmann has been teaching since 1995 a. a. at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main , Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . Her teaching activities focus on drama writing, the history and theory of theater and drama theory.

Since June 2017 Dagmar Borrmann has been Professor and Training Director for Acting at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.

Dagmar Borrmann is a member of the German Academy of Performing Arts . She has been chairwoman of the jury for the Young Actors Week in Bensheim since 2019 .
