Damián Austin
Damián Austin Echemendía (born November 30, 1974 in Las Tunas ) is a former Cuban boxer .
Damián Austin was world champion lightweight in 1993 at the 7th World Championships in Tampere, Finland . After he moved into the final without a fight in the semifinals against Tibor Rafael , because the Slovak did not start due to a hand injury, he defeated the American Larry Nicholson on points in the final battle . At the 2001 World Boxing Championships , he also won gold in the light middleweight division .
