Daniel Ädel (sometimes also referred to as Daniel Eriksson , born September 9, 1986 ) is a former Icelandic ice hockey player who spent almost his entire career with lower-class Swedish clubs. His younger brother Patrick was also an Icelandic international. His father Lenny Eriksson was both a player and a coach in the professional field.

Career

Daniel Ädel, whose Swedish father Lenny Eriksson was active in the top Swedish league for Brynäs IF and Örebro IK in the 1970s and later coached professional teams in Norway, Sweden and Austria, began his career in the youth department of Nybro Vikings . The season 2004/05 he spent at Nyköpings Hockey , for whose junior team he played in the J20 Elit, the second highest junior division in Sweden. Then he was mostly under contract with lower-class Swedish clubs. Only in winter 2005/06 did he complete a total of 9 games for the Nordic Vikings from Beijing in the Asia League Ice Hockey . His last career station was the Boo IF from sixth grade Division 4 , where he ended his career in 2012.

International

Although Ädel has never played in Iceland in his career, he was already on the ice in the junior division for the Northmen and took part in the 2004 U18 World Championships in Division II and the 2004 U20 World Championships in Division II and in 2005 and 2006 when he was the best preparer of the tournament, participated in Division III.

Ädel played for the Icelandic men's national team at the World Championships of Division II in 2005 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 . After relegation in the meantime, he joined his team in 2006 in Division III and achieved immediate promotion.
