David M. Hale (born June 18, 1981 in Colorado Springs , Colorado ) is a former American ice hockey player who played 344 games for the New Jersey Devils , Calgary Flames , Phoenix Coyotes , Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators has played in the National Hockey League on the position of fullback .
Career
David Hale began his career as an ice hockey player with the Sioux City Musketeers, for which he was active from 1998 to 2000 in the United States Hockey League . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the first round as a total of 22nd player by the New Jersey Devils from the National Hockey League . First, however, he played for three years for the University of North Dakota team .
In the 2003/04 season , the defender made his debut in the NHL for New Jersey, for which he was a total of three and a half years on the ice before he was given in February 2007 to the Calgary Flames . This in turn transferred the American to the Phoenix Coyotes before the 2008/09 season . His subsequent engagements in Phoenix and Tampa were each limited to one year before Hale became a free agent after the 2009/10 season . On August 4, 2010, he signed a contract with the Ottawa Senators . In October 2011, the American declared his active career over.
After a two-year break, the comeback followed in the summer of 2013. He signed with HC Eppan , with which he played in the Italian Serie A2 and in the Inter-National League . At the end of the season, Hale finally retired from active sports.
International
For the United States , Hale took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2001 , where he finished fifth with his team.
