David Templeton (born January 7, 1989 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football player who plays for Burton Albion .
Career
society
David Templeton was born in Glasgow in 1989 . During this time his father Henry Templeton played for Ayr United, some 55 km southwest of Glasgow . His father gave him his middle name Cooper , based on the Scottish international Davie Cooper . David began his career in 2005 with the then fourth division club FC Stenhousemuir . For this he completed a total of 30 games in the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons and scored eleven goals. In January 2007, the 18-year-old talent moved to the Scottish first division club Heart of Midlothian for a transfer fee of £ 30,000 . After he had not completed a game for the professional team of Hearts until the following year, Templeton was loaned to the Raith Rovers from January 2008 until the end of the season. He was used 14 times for the Rovers and scored four times. After his return to Edinburgh, he fell out of the 2008/09 season due to injuries and therefore only played three games. After his recovery, he was in the following season 2009/10 supplementary player in the team of Csaba László . Only under the new coach Jim Jefferies could Templeton fight for a regular place and complete 33 league games. Behind Rudolf Skácel , Kevin Kyle and Stephen Elliott , he was also the team's third-best goalscorer with seven goals. With the Hearts he reached the Scottish Cup final in 2012 , which was won against Hibernian Edinburgh in the Edinburgh Derby . Templeton, who was a regular in the league under Paulo Sérgio , remained without a minute in the final. In August 2012 Templeton moved to the Glasgow Rangers for an undisclosed fee , who have just been transferred to the fourth division. With the Rangers , he rose from fourth to first division in the following seasons and won the Challenge Cup in 2016 .
