action

Small zombie outbreaks are commonplace in the United States . An epidemic is prevented by the drug Zombrex . Infected people have to take it daily so that they don't transform. When multiple outbreaks occur in a small town in Oregon , she is evacuated. The small film team around Chase and Jordan is the only team to report on location. You interview some people, including Crystal. When Jordan is tired and doesn't expect ratings, she wants to get out of town. Chase, on the other hand, secretly wants to film the administration of drugs to infected people in a tent. Jordan doesn't want this and goes in the direction of the car. During Chase's recordings in the tent, several people turn into zombies - panic breaks out because the virus is apparently immune to Zombrex. While Chase is trapped in the tent and is looking for a way past the zombies, Jordan has reached the car and knocks a zombie out of the car that comes through the window. She's still waiting, but when Chase doesn't come she drives away. Chase can still see that. He is desperate. When Crystal is killing a zombie, he sees her and follows her. She pushes the shield with which she killed the zombie into his hand. As the two walk past a bridge, a zombie suddenly falls from the bridge and clings to Chase's leg. He takes the sign, hits the head a few times so that it is covered in blood, throws the board at him and continues running. Chase and Crystal then meet Maggie on the street who is mourning her daughter for just stabbing her with a knife. The two urge her to get into the car next to her and drive off. After some hesitation, she does and they drive off. While driving, Chase calls the news anchor Susan from a US broadcaster and tells them live over the phone about the activities in the city. Then a construction worker zombie appears on the street and Maggie accidentally runs over him. He destroys the windshield in the impact and is passed out. While other zombies approach the scene of the accident, Crystal runs into a shop next to it and closes the door. Then Maggie runs outside and is immediately attacked by a zombie, but can free herself again and runs together with Chase to the door. After some hesitation, Crystal opens it and the other two come in. Chase reports on the phone again for the TV after touring the store. Meanwhile, Jordan arrives at the defensive wall and is the last person to let through before the city is quarantined . She too is locked up and examined.

The next day, Chase sees Crystal Zombrex squirt. She says it's a "good" Zombrex. Then a motorcycle gang comes along and spreads unrest. One of them, Logan, comes into the store. Crystal holds an empty revolver to his head and he leaves the store. A man runs up to him and asks him for help, but he knocks him down and instigates zombies on his wife, who is eventually eaten. When everyone has armed themselves, Crystal wants to continue fighting alone because she only has a syringe with a good Zombrex and doesn't want to kill the others. She leaves the shop, Maggie follows her a short time later. Chase also does this after finding a brushcutter . He storms out of the house. Meanwhile, Crystal and Maggie sneak into a vehicle. Chase only attracts more zombies with the noise of the brushcutter. When he can just about save himself from a zombie mass by jumping into a side alley, locking the gate with his screwdriver and running on, he sees a police officer and a clown - both zombies. Since the clown is a little further away, he first fights with the policeman. He can grab his service weapon and shoots his skull off. Then the clown is already there and hits him with an ax . He evades and touches the clown's nose with the pistol . When he pulls the trigger, he notices that the magazine is empty. The clown throws him on the floor. Then he is run over by Crystal and Maggie. Chase gets in and they continue to a warehouse with Zombrex for Crystal. When she comes back from the camp, she says that there is only "bad" Zombrex there. Then they go to the motorcycle gang camp and want to get the Zombrex there. Maggie separates from the other two unnoticed because she sees the head of her daughter's teddy bear and hears the music from the rest of the stuffed animal. She opens the gate to the "zombie camp" of the gang and sees her daughter. She then takes her in her arms and is bitten by her. Then all the other zombies come and eat them up. Chase and Crystal meanwhile film how Crystal first injects the official, then her Zombrex and publishes it.

The zombies from the room are now spreading throughout the camp and let Crystal and Chase escape through a door. When they closed it, they realize that they are trapped, because they cannot go back through the door and there are zombies in front of them, but they cannot attack because they are standing on a kind of balcony . When Jordan calls to find out where they are, Chase learns from her that a rescue team was supposedly at the camp, but they weren't there. Chase replies. She also says that refugees are now being allowed to quit because a new drug was supposedly created thanks to the video. Time goes by and the gang comes back to their camp. As they are about to kill all the zombies, they notice Chase and Crystal. Chase is knocked down and Crystal captured. When Chase comes to, he is tied to the steering wheel of a forklift and zombies are coming at him from all directions. He can kick the first zombie away, but it pulls a cable with it and gas flows out. Then he sees a zombie burning after contact with fire and approaching him. He holds a zombie with his legs and quickly cuts his bonds with the knife from the back of one of the zombies. A short time later, the burning zombie reached the forklift and everything exploded. Chase steals a motorcycle from the gang and lures all the remaining zombies into the camp. Then he drives quickly to Crystal. Logan has just told her that he wants to destroy the wall with a bomb so that the zombies can spread and he no longer has to obey any laws. Crystal bites him and throws his accomplice into a crowd of zombies after a fight. Chase and Crystal flee.

Jordan and Norton are currently trying to find out what the army is doing and why they lied to them. It comes to light that the army has deliberately replaced the Zombrex with a fake agent and wants to implant a "new" antidote in the form of a chip that will constantly monitor them. When the two want to bring this to the public, Norton is shot. Jordan can still hide and at the same time hides her cell phone with the evidence in the newspaper dispenser. Then she too will be discovered.

When they arrive at the wall, they are asked to keep their hands up, but then Logan comes and brings a horde of zombies. He throws smoke bombs so that the soldiers on the wall can no longer see anything. You open fire. Chase and Crystal get guns from an abandoned van and fight Logan. He finally throws the bomb, but Chase is able to throw it back in time and it sticks to Logan's back and explodes. Both of the others can leave the quarantine zone. Since Crystal was bitten, she is given a chip.

Chase calls Jordan but only hears a low ring. He follows the sound and finally finds the cell phone.
