The Chacabuco Department is located in the southwest of the Chaco Province in northwest Argentina and is one of the province's 25 administrative units .
It borders the Nueve de Julio department to the north, the O'Higgins department to the east, the Doce de Octubre department to the south and the province of Santiago del Estero to the west .
