wetter.com is an online weather portal for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In June and July 2019, the portal reached more than 20 million unique users via website and apps . The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of ProSieben Travel , a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 Media .

history

Wetter.com AG was founded in Singen on November 7, 2000 . Partners were the two founders Manfred Klemann and Stefan Blondzik; ProSiebenSat.1 AG was won as a media partner. In 2001 wetter.com went online. In the same year, the production of different weather formats for customers from TV, radio and print started.

With Snowthority, wetter.com opened a new portal especially for winter sports enthusiasts in December 2018. Since the beginning of 2019, the offer with information for over 1,200 ski areas in Europe has also been available free of charge as an app for Android and iOS .

TV channel

On October 18, 2004, the 24-hour television broadcaster Deutsches Wetter Fernsehen was founded to present the weather, including forecasts, severe weather warnings, summaries, advice programs and documentaries.
