Dichen Lachman ( Tibetan. བདེ་ ཆེན ། ) [ ˈdiːtʃən ˈlækmən ] (born February 22, 1982 in Kathmandu , Nepal ) is an Australian television actress . She was known primarily for roles in the Australian soap opera Neighbors and US science fiction - series Dollhouse .

life and career

Lachman was born in Kathmandu to a Tibetan woman and an Australian with German roots and spent the first seven years of her life there before her parents moved to Adelaide , Australia . She attended high school, college and the University of Adelaide there .

In 2005 she was cast in the role of the nurse Katya Kinski for the Australian soap opera Neighbors and shot over 80 episodes in this role. Prior to her role in Neighbors , she shot a commercial for Wanadoo . A year later she had a small role in the film Aquamarine - The first love that was made fun of . After filming Bled in the role of Aaren , she appeared in Aztec Rex as Ayacoatl in front of the camera. In the series Dollhouse produced by Joss Whedon , she starred in the lead role of Sierra from 2008 to 2010 .

Lachman had a guest role in Torchwood's fourth season .

In 2012 she played the lead role of the suras in the second season of the US mystery series Being Human .

From 2012 to 2013 she starred in the ABC television series Last Resort .

In 2014 she had a recurring role in the science fiction series The 100 .

In 2018, she starred as Reileen Kawahara (Rei) in the Netflix series Altered Carbon .

In July 2014, Lachman got engaged to actor Maximilian Osinski after three years of relationship .
