history
The diocese of Charlottetown was established on August 11, 1829 by Pope Pius VIII with the Apostolic Constitution Inter multiplices from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Québec . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth as a suffragan .
