The Accha district is located in the Paruro Province in the Cusco region in south-central Peru . The district was established on June 21, 1825. It has an area of ​​239 km². At the 2017 census, 3267 people lived in the district. In 1993 the population was 4240, in 2007 3853. The district administration is located in the 3611  m high town of Accha with 1298 inhabitants (as of 2017). Accha is located 23 km south of the provincial capital Paruro .

Geographical location

The Accha district is located in the Andean highlands in the central south of the Paruro province. The Río Velille crosses the district in a north-northwest direction.

The Accha district borders in the southwest on the Capacmarca district ( Chumbivilcas province ), in the northwest on the Ccapi district , in the north on the Colcha district , in the east on the Pillpinto district and in the south on the Omacha district .

In addition to the main town, there are the following larger towns in the district:
