The Honoria district is located in the Puerto Inca province in the Huánuco region in central Peru . The district was established on February 2, 1956. The Honoria district has an area of approximately 950 km². The 2017 census counted 4814 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 4757, in 2007 it was 5628. The administrative seat of the district is the town of Honoria (also Nuevo Honoria) with 1422 inhabitants (as of 2017) located on the left bank of the Río Pachitea at an altitude of about 180 m . Honoria is located almost 75 km northeast of the provincial capital Puerto Inca and 47 km south-southwest of the city of Pucallpa . 30 km downstream, the Río Pachitea flows into the further east flowing Río Ucayali .
Geographical location
The Honoria district is located in the extreme northeast of the Puerto Inca province. It lies on the western edge of the Amazon basin . The district extends to the mouth of the Río Pachitea and includes the lowest river kilometers and their catchment areas . The road from Tournavista further south to Campoverde and on to Pucallpa crosses the west of the district in a northerly direction.
The Honoria district is bordered to the south by the district Tournavista , the west by the district Campo Verde , in the northeast on the district Manantay , in the far east to the district Masisea and the east by the district Iparía (the last four districts are all in the province of Coronel Portillo ).
