The district of San Miguel de Mayocc is located in the province of Churcampa in the Huancavelica region in southwest central Peru . The district was established on June 22, 1962. It has an area of ​​25.3 km². The 2017 census counted 788 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 875, in 2007 it was 1144. The district administration is based in the 2212  m high village of San Miguel de Mayocc with 546 inhabitants. San Miguel de Mayocc is located 7 km south of the provincial capital Churcampa .

Geographical location

The district of San Miguel de Mayocc is located in the extreme south of the province of Churcampa on the western edge of the Peruvian Central Cordillera . The Río Mantaro flows east along the southern district boundary.

The district of San Miguel de Mayocc borders in the west on the district Locroja , in the north and in the northeast on the district Churcampa , in the southeast on the district La Merced and in the south on the district Marcas ( province Acobamba ).
