The district of San Pedro de Casta is located in the Huarochirí province of the Lima region in the central west of Peru . The district founded on July 28, 1821 has an area of ​​79.91 km². At the 2017 census, there were 928 residents in the district. In 1993 the population was 1184, in 2007 it was 1195. The district administration is located in the 3180  m high town of San Pedro de Casta with 689 inhabitants (as of 2017).

Geographical location

The district of San Pedro de Casta is located in the central northwest of the Huarochirí province. It is located on the western flank of the Peruvian Western Cordillera on the eastern bank of the south-flowing Río Santa Eulalia . The district covers the catchment area of the Río Carhuayuma. 4 kilometers south of San Pedro de Casta is Marcahuasi , an area of ​​remarkable granite rocks.

The district of San Pedro de Casta borders the districts of Santa Eulalia and San Antonio in the west, the districts Huachupampa and San Juan de Iris in the north and the districts of San Mateo de Otao and Callahuanca in the south .
