The Dohrenbach is a 3.2 km long, southwest and left tributary of the Gelster in the north Hessian Werra-Meißner district .

course
The Dohrenbach rises on the eastern roof of the Kaufunger Forest. Its source is located about 700 m northwest of the Fahrenbach farm group at about 289 m above sea level. NHN height in a valley cut on the eastern edge of the forest of the mountain ridge between the small cap ( 463.5 m ) in the southwest and the white stone ( 290.7 m ) in the northeast; beyond this ridge is the Wolfsberg ( 355 m ) in the northwest .
The stream initially runs, accompanied by wood on the banks, about 200 m to the east-southeast and then 1.15 km to the northeast through agricultural land. Shortly after crossing under the municipal road from Dohrenbach to Fahrenbach, which runs in north-south direction, it turns north and flows about 650 m in this direction. On the southern outskirts of Dohrenbach, he takes up the small stream coming from Wolfsberg in the west.
Then the brook bends in a long right curve along the southeastern edge of the village to the northeast and then runs straight through forest, accompanied by the state road 3389 (Bilsteinstraße) , another 1.13 km to its confluence with the federal road 451 . Because of the water saturated with lime, lime sinter forms here , which forms small thresholds in the stream bed.
Then the brook crosses under the B 451 and flows around 70 m further east and around 850 m brook meters below the mouth of the Fahrenbach II at around 175 m above sea level in the Werra tributary of the Gelster , which is approaching there from the south-southeast ; north of the estuary is the company premises of the " DS Smith Witzenhausen Mill " and immediately to the north of this is the premises of SCA Packaging Containerboard Germany . The short stream portion below the B 451 and the orifice is located in the conservation area Gelster ( CDDA -No 555,547,210;. 2.1934 square kilometers large).
