Doris Louise Pauline Jakobsen Jensen (born Jakobsen ; born October 30, 1978 in Ilulissat ) is a Greenlandic politician ( Siumut ) and teacher .

Life

Doris Jakobsen attended school in Ilulissat and later in Sønderborg . She then attended the upper school in Aasiaat from 1995 to 1998 . After finishing school, she went to Ilinniarfissuaq , the Greenlandic teachers' college in Nuuk . She is the daughter of Ole Lars and Sofie Jakobsen. She is married to Ejvind Jensen, has two daughters, Niviaq and Aviaq, and two stepchildren, Monica and Aqqalooraq.

Doris Jakobsen was a member of the Siumut youth party from 1992, where she was the chairman of the Aasiaat community from 1996 to 1998 and finally from 1998 to 2005 the state chairwoman. From 1992 she was in the Greenland Youth Council Sorlak , of which she became chairman in 2002. From 1997 she was in the party administration of the Siumut, from 2009 to 2011 as vice chairman. From 2004 to 2006 she was a member of the Inuit Circumpolar Council for her party .

She was first elected to parliament in 2002 at the age of just 24. In the 2005 local elections, she was elected to the Nuuk Municipality Council. In the 2005 election she was re-elected to parliament and then became Minister for Culture, Education, Research and Church at the age of 27, but left the government in November 2006. She stood in the 2007 Folketing election and landed on the first place behind Lars-Emil Johansen , whom she briefly represented in 2009. In the local elections in 2008 she was elected to the council of the new Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq and appointed 2nd Vice Mayor. In the 2009 parliamentary election she was able to defend her seat. Two years later, she entered the 2011 Folketing Election and was elected. In the parliamentary elections in Greenland in 2013 , she again received a seat in the Greenland parliament, while she did not run in the local elections in the same year. The following year, she was elected to parliament for the fifth time in a row in the 2014 general election. She then became Minister for Health and Nordic Affairs in the Kielsen I cabinet . In the 2015 Folketing Election , she did not run again. In 2016 she became Minister for Education, Culture, Research and the Church in the Kielsen II cabinet . In the 2018 parliamentary elections , she was elected to parliament for the sixth time and then appointed Minister for Health and Research in the Kielsen III cabinet. With the departure of Partii Naleraq in September 2018, she took over the social, family and justice departments on an interim basis. A month later she was appointed Minister for Health, Social Affairs and Justice in the Kielsen IV cabinet, but after just a few days she had to resign on October 17th after she had been withdrawn from trust because of the misuse of her official fuel card. Then she took her seat in parliament.
