The Kielsen II cabinet was the 20th government in Greenland . It existed from October 2016 to May 2018 and replaced the Kielsen I cabinet that had previously been broken .

Origin and existence

In the fall of 2016, the government of Siumut , Demokraatit and Atassut , formed after the 2014 parliamentary elections , broke up , among other things, the decisive factors were differences in the planned new construction of a parliament building and in subsidizing remote settlements. Kim Kielsen then formed a new coalition of Siumut, Inuit Ataqatigiit and Partii Naleraq . The latter would not have been necessary in terms of numbers, but was added in order to have the broadest possible parliamentary base in the pursuit of Greenland's independence. The disputed point of uranium mining was excluded; it should be addressed when initial requests for dismantling are received. On October 27, 2016, the coalition agreement of the three parties was signed and the appointment of the ministerial posts was announced.

On January 27, 2017, Martha Lund Olsen was dismissed from the cabinet to devote herself to local politics. Your ministry was taken over by the minister of raw materials, Múte B. Egede . On April 24, 2017, Vittus Qujaukitsoq resigned and Erik Jensen and Karl-Kristian Kruse were appointed to the cabinet together with a comprehensive redistribution of responsibilities . From August 31, 2017 to November 27, 2017 Suka K. Frederiksen was on leave due to cancer and was represented by Karl-Kristian Kruse during this time.
