The Motzfeldt V cabinet was the fifth government in Greenland .
Emergence
After just under a year, Siumut and Inuit Ataqatigiit again disputed in May 1988 . This time there was disagreement over matters relating to uranium mining in Greenland and possible NATO membership. A little later, Prime Minister Jonathan Motzfeldt called a parliamentary session for June 7th, at which a new cabinet should be worked out, as the Atassut and the Issittup Partiia of the Siumut had promised to support a minority government . On June 8, the new members of the government were finally announced, elected with 23 out of 27 votes, only rejected by the Inuit Ataqatigiit. The number of ministers was reduced to five.
