The Drepte is a 37.6 km long, eastern and right tributary of the Lower Weser in the Lower Saxony districts of Osterholz and Cuxhaven .
course
The Drepte rises in the Lange Heide , which is the headwaters of numerous Geest streams in the Weser river system. Your source, located in the district of Osterholz, is in the Elm forest area between Westerbeck in the east-southeast and Lange Heide in the west, two districts of Osterholz-Scharmbeck .
The Drepte initially flows between Garlstedt in the west, where it drove the Brockmannsmühlen , and Hülseberg and Ohlenstedt - Büttel in the east; all three are also districts of Osterholz-Scharmbeck.
Then the Drepte finally reaches the district of Cuxhaven, where it first passes the western Heine and then Wulsbüttel in the east. It then flows through the center of Hagen in the Bremen region and passes the Hagen district of Driftsethe , west of the river ; then it passes under the federal highway 27 .
Then the Drepte flows a few meters north of the municipal boundary of Hagen and Loxstedt directly north of the Dreptersiel farm belonging to Hagen into the North Sea tributary Weser coming from there from the south . About 2.5 km up the Weser is the Hagen district of Rechtenfleth , 1.8 km down the Weser the Lune flows into the Storm, and 7.5 km north of the Dreptem estuary is the city limits of Bremerhaven .
Catchment area, length and hydrology
The Drepte catchment area is 100.96 km². The river is 37.6 km long from its source to its mouth; From the road bridge on Landesstraße 135 (formerly B 6 ) near Garlstedt that crosses the river , it is about 29.6 km in length.
The upper course of the Drepte water is classified in quality class II (moderately polluted) and from drift the up to the confluence in quality class II-III (critically polluted).
Protection status
Drepte is located approximately from Wulsbüttel to Dreptersiel in the FFH area "Teichfledermausgewässer im Raum Bremerhaven / Bremen", which is also designated as a nature reserve " Teichfledermausgewässer ".
