The French manufacturer Lactalis acquired the milk division Puleva Foods from Ebro Puleva in 2010 for 630 million euros. Ebro Puleva thus continued its slimming strategy on pasta and rice. In 2009, the division achieved sales of 444 million euros.

With the acquisition of the largest Australian rice producer Ricegrowers Ltd for 610 million AUS dollars , Ebro Foods wanted to strengthen its position in the rice market in 2011. The takeover was canceled due to the rejection of the Australian authorities and shareholders.
