Eckhard Dörr

Eckhard Dörr (* 1946 in Rünthe ) is a German visual artist .

Live and act

Eckhard Dörr studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1970 to 1976 and was a master student of Gerhard Richter . Since 1976 he has been working as a freelance artist, initially until 1979 as a member of a producer's gallery with Werner Reuber and Helmut Silbermann in Düsseldorf , then in Ratingen and from 1983 in Oldenburg .

From 1987 to 1992 he formed the “Pallas Group” with Etta Unland, Dieter Härtel, Bernd Hinzelmann and Udo Reimann . Since 1988 he has been a lecturer at the Oldenburg factory school. In 1989 he founded the producer gallery "Atelierhaus" with Etta Unland, Bernd Hinzelmann and Dieter Härtel. From 1993 to 1997 he worked with Etta Unland, Bernd Hinzelmann and Rüdiger Barharn in the “Sonnenstraße” studio community. In 1999 he moved into a new studio in Eversten .

In addition to painting, he also deals with other artistic representations, including light projections with slide projectors , spotlights and beamers . He uses these both indoors and at public performances such as concert events. In his exhibition for the Jaspers Year 2008 at the University of Oldenburg , he combined painting with projection for the first time.

Eckhard Dörr lives and works in Oldenburg.
