École des Beaux-Arts or École d'Arts is the name of numerous schools for fine arts in the French-speaking area . The oldest and most famous of these is the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. These educational institutions are mainly divided into state, municipal and private schools, universities and other schools for the fine arts. Up to 1968, the architecture course was also offered at the universities, which was relocated nationwide to so-called Unités Pédagogiques d'Architecture (UPA) on the initiative of the then Minister of Education, André Malraux , which has now been called the School of Architecture ( École nationale supérieure d'architecture ) to have.

The École des Beaux-Arts should not be confused with the learned society Académie des Beaux-Arts .
