Eddie Jerome Briggs (* 1950 ) is an American politician . Between 1992 and 1996 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Mississippi .

Career

After studying law at the Law School of the Mississippi College and its made in 1977 admitted to the bar Eddie Briggs began to work in this profession. He was the first Republican to serve since 1876. In 1995 he was not re-elected. In 1999 he ran unsuccessfully in his party's gubernatorial primaries. Since the end of his tenure as Lieutenant Governor, he has practiced again as a lawyer in Madison . He also continued his career as a businessman in various industries. He is the owner of several companies that are active in the real estate industry, among others.
