MM Evans

MM Evans (* 5 July 1850 as Marion McKay Evans in Handsboro , Mississippi ; † 9. October 1911 in Jackson , Mississippi) was an American politician . Between 1890 and 1896 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Mississippi .

There are almost no sources about Evans. Neither his life dates nor his full name are known. Nothing is known about his professional activities outside of politics either. What is certain is that he lived in Mississippi for at least some time and belonged to the Democratic Party . In 1889 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi alongside John Marshall Stone . He held this office between January 1890 and January 1896. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, his track is lost again.
