James T. Harrison

James Thomas Harrison (born May 21, 1848 in Columbus , Lowdes County , Mississippi , †  May 18, 1934 ibid) was an American politician . Between 1900 and 1904 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Mississippi.

Career

The sources on James Harrison are not very rich. There is no information about his youth or his professional career beyond politics. What is certain is that he lived in the state of Mississippi and belonged to the Democratic Party .

In 1899 he was elected lieutenant governor of Mississippi at the side of Andrew H. Longino . He held this office between January 1900 and January 1904. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he was no longer politically active. Harrison died on May 18, 1934 in his hometown of Columbus. He was married to Fannie Moore (1862-1934).
