Eduardo Filipe Quaresma Coimbra Simões (born March 2, 2002 in Barreiro ) is a Portuguese football player who is under contract with the first division club Sporting Lisbon . The center- back has been a Portuguese U19 international since October 2019 .
Career
society
Eduardo Quaresma, who was born in Barreiro , began his football training at the age of three with the local club GD Fabril do Barreiro . Six years later he joined the youth team at Sporting Lisbon . For the 2019/20 season he began playing in the Leões reserve team. In March 2020, he was promoted to the first team of head coach Rúben Amorim , but his debut was delayed due to the forced break due to the COVID-19 pandemic . On June 4, 2020 (25th matchday) he was on the pitch for the first time in the top Portuguese league in the 2-2 draw against Vitória Guimarães . On June 16, he signed a contract extension until summer 2025.
National team
In April and May 2017, Eduardo Quaresma played four international matches for the Portuguese U15 national team . Between November 2017 and May 2018, he played nine U16 friendly matches and wore the captain's bow in six of them. In September 2018 he was in action for the U17 for the first time . In May 2019 he led this selection as captain through the 2019 U-17 European Championship in Ireland and played all four games. After the tournament, he was no longer in action for this age group after 14 international matches.
Since September 2019 Quaresma for is U18 in use and only one month later, he completed his first international match in U19 .
