Luciano Darío Vietto (born December 5, 1993 in Balnearía , Córdoba ) is an Argentine football player . The striker is under contract with Sporting Lisbon .

Career

Beginnings in Argentina (until 2014)

Vietto started his career at Independiente de Balnearia . From 2008 to 2010 he played in the youth of Estudiantes de la Plata before moving to the Racing Club in Avellaneda . In 2011 he moved up from the youth to the first team and came on October 27, 2011 in the 1-1 draw against CA Lanús for the first time in the Argentine Primera División . In the 2012/13 season Vietto became a regular player. On September 4, 2012 he scored his first goals in professional football with a three-pack in a 3-1 home win against CA San Martín de San Juan .

Villarreal CF (2014-2015)

For the 2014/15 season Vietto moved to Villarreal in the Spanish Primera División . He scored his first goals for Villarreal on September 21, 2014 in a 4-2 home win against Rayo Vallecano , when he came on after 58 minutes when the score was 2-1. In the Europa League , with six goals scored in ten games, he played a key role in reaching the last sixteen , in which he failed with the team at Sevilla FC .

Atlético Madrid and Loans (since 2015)

For the 2015/16 season , Vietto moved to league rivals Atlético Madrid for a transfer fee of more than 20 million euros . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2020 and played again under coach Diego Simeone , with whom he had already worked at the Racing Club. In his first season he could not build on his successful time in Villarreal and only scored one goal in 19 appearances in the league.
