Eglersried is a district of Markt Indersdorf , which is about 39 kilometers northwest of Munich in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau .

history

The hamlet belonging to the parish of Weichs was first mentioned in a document in 1147 with a Egelolf von Eglofsried. In 1580 the place name "Öglsried" was written. An old church was dilapidated in 1690, was rebuilt and consecrated to St. Catherine on 1694. The altars date from this time.

Municipal reform

Until the reorganization of the Bavarian communities, Eglersried was part of the community of Ainhofen . On January 1, 1972 Eglersried was assigned to the municipality of Markt Indersdorf .
