Grainhof

Grainhof is a district of the Markt Indersdorf market , which is about 39 kilometers northwest of Munich in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau .

history

The wasteland of Grainhof ("Grünhof"; "Green patch of grass in the dark forest") originally belonged to Lanzenried and like this to the parish of Langenpettenbach . The landlord was the Indersdorf monastery . After the monastery was dissolved, a new property could be built outside the Lanzenried property. The Grainhof later belonged to the municipality of Ainhofen . He has been part of Markt Indersdorf since January 1, 1972.

The robbery

Shortly after the end of the war, on July 6, 1945, strangers broke into the dark house, shot the newly married farm owner Anton Gottschalk and stole the valuable objects that were in the house. By chance a brother of Anton Gottschalk came by. This was also shot. The strangers were a group of Poles who had committed several raids in the region. The head of the gang was sentenced to life imprisonment in Munich.
