Jeffrey "Jeff" Sciullo (born November 22, 1987 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American wrestler and musician . He is currently under contract with the WWE , where he appears under the ring name Elias on SmackDown . Sciullo is a former 24/7 champion .

Wrestling career

Beginnings

Sciullo fought extensively in the independent leagues for various promos in the northeastern United States , primarily for International Wrestling Cartel (IWC) under the ring name "Heavy Metal Jesus" and later "Logan Shulo". While at IWC, Shulo won the Super Indy Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship .

World Wrestling Entertainment (since 2014)

NXT (2014-2017)

In early 2014 Sciullo signed a development deal with WWE under the ring name "Elias Samson". He made his NXT debut on 24 April 2014 at first he worked as a young talent and formed a tag team with Buddy Murphy and they lost a feud with The Ascension. Samson was then used sporadically on television in 2014 and early 2015, with wrestlers like Baron Corbin appearing primarily as up-and-coming talent.

In August 2015, Samson made his debut as a musician gimmick in a match on NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn . He entered the ring with a guitar before taking on Bull Dempsey. Samson competed in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament where he was tagged with Tucker Knight, but they were later eliminated from the tournament by The Revival Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder. In the next few weeks he competed at NXT against various wrestlers such as John Skyler, Corey Hollis, Steve Butler and Jesse Sorensen. On the March 23, 2016 NXT episode, Samson lost to Johnny Gargano . After the match, Samson attacked Gargano when Apollo Crews came out and rescued Gargano. He lost to Crews at the NXT TakeOver: Dallas on April 6, 2016. Samson started a series of defeats. First he lost to Shinsuke Nakamura , then to Finn Bálor and then to Nathan Cruz.

On March 15, 2017, Samson seemed delighted with defeating Kassius Ohno , before that he lost a championship match to Bobby Roode . Ohno challenged Samson for a "Loser Leaves NXT Match" on March 29, 2017. Samson lost the match. On April 1, 2017, Samson fought with a mask as "El Vagabundo" against Oney Lorcan. El Vagabundo lost when Lorcan pulled the mask off his face.

Raw (2017-2019)

On April 10, 2017, Samson made his main roster debut on Monday Night RAW. He made his in-ring debut on May 22, 2017 and won against Dean Ambrose because of DQ (disqualification) because The Miz came out and attacked Ambrose. On June 19, Samson was singing a song in the ring when Finn Bàlor came out to catch up with his match against Bo Dallas . Later on, Samson attacked Bàlor in the backstage area when he was being interviewed and said to him "never upstage him again" ("never interrupt me again"). On July 24th, Samson had won a No DQ match (No Disqualification) against Bálor, Samson. A few weeks later he changed his name to Elias.

At WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2017, Elias won a match against Jason Jordan . He drew the number 6 at the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble and was later eliminated by John Cena . On the January 29, 2018 Raw episode, he won a match against Matt Hardy and qualified for the Elimination Chamber Match to determine the winner of the Universal Championship . On February 5th there was a Triple Threat Match between him, John Cena and Braun Strowman on Raw , Elias won in the end. At WrestleMania 34 , Elias held a promo until John Cena interrupted her because of the match between John Cena and The Undertaker . At the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, Elias came out as number 20 and stayed in the ring for 34 minutes until Bobby Lashley eliminated him. The May 28 Raw episode gave Elias a concert in the ring before his match against Jinder Mahal until Seth Rollins interrupted him, after the match Elias attacked Rollins with his guitar. On May 31, Elias lost the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at Money in the Bank 2018. On October 6, he lost the Tag Team match with Kevin Owens against John Cena and Bobby Lashley at WWE Super Show-Down .

SmackDown (since 2019)

As part of the Superstar Shake-Up 2019, Elias switched from Raw to SmackDown on April 16, 2019 . After this move, he started a feud against Roman Reigns , which culminated in a singles match at WWE Money in the Bank in 2019, but he lost this match after just 10 seconds. In the SmackDown issue of May 28, 2019, Elias was able to secure the WWE 24/7 Championship from R-Truth and thus won his first title at the WWE, but he lost the title back to Truth that same night and the reign ended after an hour. In the SmackDown issue of June 4, 2019, Elias was able to secure the WWE 24/7 Championship from R-Truth for the second time, only to lose it again after a few seconds to Truth. The third reign he started on August 12th after he surprised R-Truth in the backstage area. This reign lasted 12 days and then lost the title to R-Truth after they pinned it on stage at a Fox Sport event. However, he won the title back that same night on August 24th from Rob Stone, a producer at Fox Sport. He previously won the title of R-Truth, so he started his fourth reign. His fourth reign ended 3 days after Drake Maverick pinned him.

Outside of wrestling

In 2018 Sciullo released his first EP called Walk With Elias .
