Elitserien (chess) 1989/90

The 1989/90 season was the third season of the Elitserien . As in previous years, the defending champion Wasa SK won ahead of SK Rockaden Stockholm , which could inflict the only defeat on the champions. From the Division I were Schacksällskapet Allians Skänninge and SK Kamraterna ascended. While the SK Kamraterna achieved relegation, Skänninge had to relegate together with Upsala ASS , with Upsala only a half board point separating them from the saving 6th place. For the last time the Elitserien was held with 8 teams, from the 1990/91 season the class consisted of 10 teams.
