The Ellebach , also popularly known as Ellbach or (the) Elle , is a 33.6 km long tributary of the Rur in the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

The stream rises on the former Drover Heide military training area , which is located in the Kreuzau community . The source of the Ellebach is located south of Kreuzau- Stockheim . From there it flows northwards through Merzenich and Niederzier to Jülich , where it flows into the Rur .

The catchment area of the Ellebach amounts to 104.7 km².
