Elsa Blöcher
Elsa Blöcher (born October 1, 1900 in Wallau (Lahn) ; † June 2, 1995 there ) was a German teacher , historian and author .
Life
Elsa Blöcher was born as the third daughter of the modeller (model making for foundries) Ludwig Blöcher. He was busy at the Ludwigshütte . From 1907 she attended the elementary school in Wallau, then until 1915 the Selekta of the city school in Biedenkopf . In 1921 she made the upper secondary school in Kassel , the High School and then earned by attending a one-year seminar class, the instructor for middle and higher schools for girls. After working as a private tutor for three years , she began studying history , German and geography in Frankfurt in 1925 . In 1926 she moved to the Philipps University of Marburg , where she worked in 1931 with the salt works and salt trade in the Wetterau, with especially Berücks. from Nauheim in the 17th u. 18th century to Dr. phil. received his doctorate .
After teaching in Frankfurt am Main , at the Elisabeth School in Marburg until the autumn break of 1935 and in Wiesbaden , she returned to her parents' house in Wallau in 1940 and took up a position as a study assessor at the “State High School for Boys” in Biedenkopf, where she up to on her retirement , most recently as director of studies and deputy headmistress of the Lahntalschule .
After the Second World War , she became involved in researching the history of the Hessian hinterland , became a board member in 1948 and chairwoman of the Hinterland history association in 1953 (until 1985) and thus editor of the Hinterland history sheets and, in 1968, second chairwoman of the association for Hessian history and regional studies . In the 1950s she began to publish essays and books on the history of the country.
