Elsa Dreisig

Elsa Dreisig (* 1991 in Paris ) is a French - Danish opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Elsa Dreisig was born as the daughter of the Danish opera singer Inge Dreisig and the French singer, conductor and director Gilles Ramade. She attended the choir school of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie and the Opéra National de Lyon . She studied singing with Valérie Guillorit at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique in Paris and at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig with Regina Werner.

Operatic career

From 2015 to 2017 she was a member of the opera studio of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden , after which she signed Daniel Barenboim as a permanent member of the ensemble. At the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden she appeared on stage as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel , as Pamina in the Magic Flute , as Violetta Valéry in La traviata , as Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice and as Dircé in Cherubini's Médée . She also played the role of Natascha in the world premiere of Violetter Schnee by Beat Furrer .

In 2015 she received first prize at the International New Voices Singing Competition and took second place behind Lise Davidsen at the International Queen Sonja Music Competition . 2016 she won the by Plácido Domingo launched singing competition Operalia in Guadalajara in Mexico the first prize and was in the context of the world of opera critics' poll of the magazine world of opera for young artist of the year selected. She was also recognized as a vocal discovery at the Victoires de la Musique Classique .

At the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence she made her debut in 2017 as Micaëla in Carmen . In 2018 she sang Musetta in La Bohème at the Zurich Opera House and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi at the Paris Opera . In 2019 she appeared again at the Paris Opera as Zerlina in Don Giovanni and as Elvira in I puritani . At the end of 2019 she made her debut at the Royal Opera House in London as Pamina in The Magic Flute . In August 2020 she made her scenic debut at the Salzburg Festival in Così fan tutte as Fiordiligi, staged by Christof Loy . Before that, she performed orchestral concerts in Salzburg in 2017 and 2018.

Concert singer

As a concert singer she undertook a European tour with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Simon Rattle with the creation by Joseph Haydn , during which she made her concert debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2017 . She has also performed with the London Symphony Orchestra in Christ on the Mount of Olives by Ludwig van Beethoven and with the Staatskapelle Berlin , the Vienna Philharmonic , the Munich Philharmonic and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra , and has worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim and Fabio Luisi , Franz Welser-Möst , Massimo Zanetti and David Zinman .

In 2018 she released  her first solo album Miroir (s) on Warner Classics / Erato , for which she was nominated in the Recital category of the International Opera Awards 2019 . In 2020 their second album , recorded together with the pianist Jonathan Ware , was released with Morgen .
