Emad "Moteab" Mohamed Abd El Naby Ibrahim ( Arabic عماد متعب) (Born February 20, 1983 in Sharkia ) is an Egyptian soccer player who currently plays for al Ahly Cairo in the Egyptian Premier League .
Younger life
Emad got his nickname "Moteab" in the Al-Ahly Youth Academy because he was quite accurate and irritated all goalkeepers. He started at Al-Ahly Youth Academy in 1999 when he was 16 years old. His talent and potential was discovered fairly early, so Hassan Shehata nominated him for the Egyptian U-20 national team for the 2003 Junior World Cup , where he scored a spectacular goal against England.
Career
society
Moteab made his debut at the beginning of the 2004/05 season in the Egyptian Premier League on September 17, 2004 against Suez Cement . The then manager of al Ahly Cairo , the Portuguese Manuel José , had pulled him up to the first team. Just eleven minutes later, he immediately scored his first goal in the 3-0 away win. With 15 goals, Moteab became the youngest top scorer in the Egyptian Premier League at the end of the season. Together with Mohamed Abo Treka and Mohamed Barakat he formed the "Bermuda Triangle" at Al-Ahly.
In 2005 Moteab scored al Ahly Cairo's only goal against Sydney FC at the 2005 FIFA Club World Cup . However, the team lost 2-1 and was last in this tournament.
In 2007 he completed a two-week trial training session at the English first division club Middlesbrough FC . However, the manager Gareth Southgate decided against a contract offer for the Egyptian, instead his teammate Mohamed Shawky was signed .
According to media reports, Moteab signed a contract with Bristol City with a paycheck of 1.5 million pounds and waited there for a work permit after the medical examination. However, after playing a game in the CAF Champions League for Al-Ahly, the contract with Bristol City was declared invalid. In the 2008/09 season he played on loan for Ittihad FC .
In July 2010 he moved to the Belgian top club Standard Liège , but for unknown reasons the contract was terminated a month later and therefore from January 2011 Motot played again with al Ahly Cairo. After the stadium riots in Port Said on February 1, 2012, where 74 people were killed and nearly a thousand injured in violent clashes during the game between Al-Ahly and arch-rival al-Masry , he resigned together with Mohamed Barakat and Mohamed Abo Treka announced his retirement from professional football. Meanwhile, Moteab is back in the game, the other two players ended their careers in 2013.
National team
In 2003 he was nominated by Hassan Shehata for the Egyptian U-20 national team for the 2003 Junior World Cup , where he scored a spectacular goal against England's U-20s . He won with 2,006 Egypt the Africa Cup in 2006 . He scored two goals in the last group game against Ivory Coast and one goal against Congo DR in the quarter-finals . At the Africa Cup 2008 he was voted best player on the team by his coach Hassan Shehata. At the 2010 African Cup of Nations, Moteab and his team won their third title in a row. He scored twice during the tournament, against Nigeria and against Benin , each in the group stage. In 2012, he completed his last international matches, with a total of 26 goals in 66 games.
