Emil Popp

Emil Popp (born April 26, 1897 in Heidingsfeld , † March 25, 1955 in Würzburg ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ) and administrative officer. He was u. a. Member of the Reichstag and District Chief / President of the Government in Chemnitz and in the administrative region of Pomerania .

Life

After attending elementary and high school, Popp graduated from the Würzburg construction school. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a war volunteer in the 11th Bavarian Field Artillery Regiment .

In 1921 Popp became Gauführer of the federal Oberland in Mainfranken . In 1930 he joined the NSDAP (membership number 414.073) and took over the function of district leader. After the National Socialists came to power in 1933, he became second mayor in Karlstadt and SS standard leader of SS Section IX Franconia. Two years later, as SS-Oberführer he took over the leadership of SS-Section XII Ostmark, before he went to Saxony on September 16, 1936 as SS-Brigadführer (promotion on September 13, 1936) of SS-Section II. He held this position until August 1, 1944. On September 16, 1936 he was elected to the Reichstag for the NSDAP in the constituency of Frankfurt (Oder) .

On April 14, 1937, he was appointed provisional district chief of Chemnitz, and in 1938 he was officially introduced to this office, which he held until 1944 as district president. On August 18, 1944, Emil Popp became President of the Government District of Köslin .
