Carl von Senden

Carl Wolff Justinian Freiherr von Senden (born June 20, 1808 in Darmstadt ; † March 8, 1879 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian civil servant and headed the administrative district of Köslin in the province of Pomerania as district president (1852-1856) .

origin

He was a member of the noble Schuler von Senden family . His parents were Carl Schuler von Senden (* 1752, † 1833) and his wife Henriette Margarethe Beata Vitzthum von Eckstädt , heir to Radschütz, Irsingen and Züchen. His father was the Grand Ducal Hessian minister and envoy in Berlin. The Prussian infantry general Friedrich Schuler von Senden was his uncle. His sister Mathilde (1802-1854) was married to the Prussian Lieutenant General Wilhelm Ulrich von Thun .

Life

Carl von Senden studied law at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin. In 1831, after completing his studies, he joined the Prussian administration as a government assessor for the government in Stettin . In 1839 he moved to the government in Königsberg , in order to be transferred to the government in Merseburg in 1841 . As a councilor he worked in the government in Gdansk in 1843 . In 1850 he was a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament .

In 1852 he succeeded August Ludwig Leopold von Fritsche as President of the District of Köslin in the Province of Pomerania and held the post until his retirement in 1856.

In 1854 von Senden was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle , 2nd class with oak leaves and swords . In 1859 Senden was made a legal knight of the Order of St. John at the master's seat in Sonnenburg . In 1863 King Wilhelm I appointed Senden to a member of the Prussian mansion for life out of special royal trust . In 1865 the king honored Senden with the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with a star .

Marriage and offspring

Carl von Senden married Nanny von Blumenthal (1812-1894) on December 29, 1835 . As a dowry they received the manor Natzlaff in the Schlawe district , Pomerania. The couple had several children:
