Achatius von Auerswald

Caesar Achatius von Auerswald (born November 22, 1818 in Münster , † November 21, 1883 in Berlin ) was a German judge and administrative lawyer in Prussia. He sat in the Reichstag of the North German Confederation.

Life

Achatius von Auerswald was the son of the Prussian Prime Minister Rudolf von Auerswald and his wife Adele von Dohna-Lauck (born March 31, 1795, † August 28, 1859).

He attended high school in Braunsberg . He began to study law at the Albertus University in Königsberg and in 1838 became a member of the Normannia Corpsland team . When he was inactive , he moved to the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . In 1841 he became an auscultator at the Higher Regional Court in Königsberg and in Insterburg . In 1843 he came to the Trier Regional Court , in 1844 to the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court and in 1847 to the Higher Regional Court . In 1847 he failed the assessor examination . In 1848 he became a chamber court assessor and in 1850 a district judge in Braunsberg .

He switched from the administration of justice to the internal administration of the Kingdom of Prussia and in 1852 became a deputy district administrator in the Braunsberg district . His final appointment as district administrator was delayed until 1855 because the Interior Ministry had doubts about his professional suitability and, above all, his political reliability. From 1864 he was senior government councilor in Danzig , from 1871 government vice-president in the administrative district of Königsberg and from 1874 to 1882 regional president in the administrative district of Köslin .

From 1867 to 1871 he was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation and the Customs Parliament for the Reichstag constituency, Danzig 2 administrative district and the Conservative Party .

He married Emma Marie Franziska von Buhl called Countess Schimmelpfennig von der Oye widowed von Koschinsky (born June 18, 1824). The couple had several children including:

  • Adele Emma Anna (born December 12, 1862) ⚭ December 2, 1887 Gotthold Hoeppner (1853–1922), member of the government
