Enosburg Falls is a village in the town of Enosburgh in Franklin County , Vermont in the United States with a population of 1,329 (according to the 2010 census). Village Enosburg Falls is located in northeast Town Enosburgh on the St. Albans – Richford railway line . The Missisquoi River flows west through the center of the village.
history
The Grant for Enosburgh was proclaimed on March 12, 1780 by the Vermont Republic . It was given to General Roger Enos and others on May 15, 1780. Enosburg Falls was declared a incorporated village on December 24, 1888 and was one of the smallest villages in Vermont. A high school was founded a short time later.
The St. Albans – Richford railway, which was still opened as the Missisquoi Railroad on July 1, 1873 , connected Enosburg Falls with St. Albans and Richford . The route was closed in 1992, today the Missisquoi Valley Rail-Trail , a cycling and hiking trail , is on its route .
The National Register of Historic Places in Enosburg Falls includes the Enosburg Opera House , Billado Block, and the Dr. BJ Kendall Company .
