Envera Selimović
Envera Selimović is a Bosnian journalist and works in the Department of Public Information in the United Nations in the Representation in Azerbaijan .
biography
Selimović studied political science at the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo . After graduating, she worked for Sarajevo TV, Radio “202” and then in the Radio Sarajevo team. In 1992, when war broke out in Bosnia , Envera returned to television working for almost three years as a daily announcer and editor-in-chief for Bosnia and Herzegovina's foreign television. From the end of 1994 she worked in the United States of America as head of the New York / Washington correspondent's office for radio and television in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Selimović one was scholarship for master's degree from the American government allocated, it that the Master's Degree in International Public Policy at The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University in Washington has received.
Selimović returned to Sarajevo at the end of 1999, and for the next three years she worked for the television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she brought to life her own TV program called “Interview”. This show was known for very exclusive and violent interviews and is still used today as the benchmark for similar programs. Selimović hosted political leaders from the region and around the world on her show. Selimović also interviewed numerous intellectuals and philosophers from around the world.
In March 2003, she left Bosnia and Herzegovina and moved to Tbilisi to work as spokeswoman for the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia . For the next three years she was responsible for strategic communications for the mission and advising mission leaders on public information, initiatives and activities.
In October 2006, UN Secretary General Kofi appointed Annan Selimović to represent the UN Department of Public Information Office in Baku , Azerbaijan (UN DPI Azerbaijan).
In 2001, Selimovic was named Bosnia's Journalist of the Year. She is fluent in English and Russian .
