Erasmus Pagendorfer († July 15, 1561 in Linz ) was bishop of harpsichord and auxiliary bishop in Passau .

Life

Erasmus Pagendorfer appears in 1555 as the representative of Bishop Wolfgang von Salm at the visitation ordered by King Ferdinand I for the Austrian portion of the Diocese of Passau . Appointed auxiliary bishop in Passau on March 24, 1557 with the titular seat of the harpsichord, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Passau on July 25, 1558 by his predecessor Urban Sagstetter , Bishop of Gurk, in the church Maria am Gestade in Vienna, the seat of the Passau official and vicar general for the Land under the Enns, consecrated as a bishop. In 1557 he became provost of St. Salvator in Ilzstadt and beneficiary of the Sixtus Chapel at Passau Cathedral . He died on July 25, 1561 in Linz and was buried in the parish church . His red marble tombstone with a reclining figure in a bishop's robe has been preserved (on the east side outside).
