Rosi Mittermaier and Christian Neureuther have also been working as advertising ambassadors for Erl since 2017 . The World Cup trophy won by Christian Neureuther on January 14, 1973 is on permanent display at the company headquarters in the center of Deggendorf, which was inaugurated on May 25, 2019.

Controversy

In the development of a building area in the Karlsfeld community, there have been various conflicts between the community and residents with Erlbau for some time, after the expansion of the area was discontinued without the establishment of a planned supermarket. Erlbau wants to build 300 apartments after the existing complex for assisted living since 2018, contrary to the development plan valid since 2007. This defines offices, retail and trade. The municipality, in particular the parliamentary group of the Bündnis für Karlsfeld as well as the mayor Stefan Kolbe (CSU) reject the construction of additional residential developments and insist on adherence to the development plan. Erlbau, on the other hand, argues that only through the additional apartments will there be enough demand for a food market that is also to be built and requested by the municipality. The conflict between the construction company and parts of the municipal council began in 2015 over the size of the assisted living building complex . Since construction began, the community has emphasized the importance of a food market. According to a lawyer acting for senior citizens, Erlbau had promised all buyers and tenants the supermarket. The mistake, however, lies with the municipality, since it failed to conclude an urban development contract with the investor by the time the shopping center was completed.
