Ernst Günter Hansing
Ernst Günter Hansing (born June 15, 1929 in Kiel ; † January 31, 2011 in Bad Honnef ) was an artist who cannot be assigned to one scene.
From 1948 to 1952 Hansing completed an apprenticeship as a goldsmith . In 1952 he received a grant from the French government; In 1954 another scholarship followed by the cultural group in the Federal Association of German Industry for studying at the Berlin University of Fine Arts . From 1956 Hansing had a studio in Groß-Quern (Schleswig-Holstein). In 1962 he moved it to Paris . Since moving again in 1966, he lived and worked in the Bad Honnef district of Rhöndorf . He recently suffered from Parkinson's and Alzheimer's . Already suffering from these diseases, Hansing created his last work with the portrait of the North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister Wolfgang Clement, unveiled on May 25, 2007 . He was buried in the Rhöndorfer forest cemetery .
He has an extensive pictorial and graphic work, designed metal sculptures and related his art to architecture. As a student of Fernand Léger , he received significant impulses. The artist gained international renown as a portraitist of famous contemporaries, u. a. Konrad Adenauer , Pope Paul VI. , John Paul II , Mother Teresa , Anne-Sophie Mutter , Marc Chagall and François Mitterrand .
