Eskikavak ( Turkish for old poplar ) (Kurd. Arik ) is a village in the district of Kiğı , the Turkish province of Bingöl . It is about 10 km southeast of the district capital and 10 km west of Arik Dağı. Eskikavak is an originally Armenian village. Before the Armenian genocide, 1,165 people in 170 households lived there. Ruins of an old church still stand.

In 2009 there were 87 people living in Eskikavak.

A few kilometers west of Eskikavak flows the Peri Çayı , which is dammed further south by the Özlüce dam .

In the 1990s Eskikavak was partially or completely evacuated by the Turkish security forces in the fight against guerrilla fighters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party .
