Eugen Georg Alexander von Ekesparre (born July 10, 1845 in Kasty on the island of Ösel , † February 19, 1917 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German-Baltic officer and railway engineer in Russian service.

Life

Ekesparre graduated from the 2nd Cadet Corps in Saint Petersburg from 1856 to 1863 . From 1863 to 1864 he was Portepee - Junker in Konstantinowschen Infantry School , and from 1864 to 1865 in the Michael Artillery School . In August 1865 he was promoted to second lieutenant of the 25th Artillery Brigade and in 1867 to prime lieutenant. In January 1869 he took his leave of Russian military service as a staff captain in order to prepare for entry into the Karlsruhe Polytechnic by Easter 1870 . In the summer semester of 1870 he began studying civil engineering there. At the beginning of the winter semester of 1870 he became a member of the Baltica Karlsruhe . He completed his studies at the beginning of the summer semester of 1872.

In May 1872 Ekesparre joined the Russian railways as a civil engineer . From 1872 to 1881 he was a distance engineer for a railway line. He was then until 1897 assistant to the chief of the exploitation section in the administration of the railway in Saint Petersburg. From 1897 to around 1905 he was the director of the Railway Park Company in Saint Petersburg. In 1905 he was appointed President of the Saint Petersburg Rayon Committee of the Ministry of Transport.

Origin and family

Eugen von Ekesparre-Olbrück came from the long-established Swedish - Baltic noble family von Ekesparre . His grandfather was Reinhold Gustaf Magnus von Ekesparre (1776–1807), adjunct at the regulatory court , who was married to Natalie Elisabeth von Dilmar (1779–1859). His father was Reinhold Gustaf Magnus von Ekesparre (1807–1876), a member of the Russian State Council , who was married to Charlotta Christina Elisabeth von Buxhoeveden (1811–1891). Marriage and offspring

Eugen von Ekesparre was married to Anna, nee Freiin Schilling von Cannstatt , daughter of Colonel Leopold Freiherr Schilling von Cannstatt, since 1873 . The marriage resulted in two daughters and a son:

  • Elisabeth Eleonore Emma Adeline (1875–1880)
  • Reinhold Leopold Alfred Guido Petet (1877–1907 in Freiburg im Breisgau)
  • Ebba (born July 4, 1881 in Nikolajew), who married the later Prussian infantry general Günther von Pannewitz on January 8, 1900 in Davos .
