The Evangelical University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (EHD) (until 2011 Evangelical University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt ( EFH )) is a church technical university with a focus on social courses.

History and organization

The Evangelical University of Darmstadt was founded in 1971 and is a church corporation under public law. The EHD is supported by the Diakonisches Werk Hessen and Nassau as well as the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau and the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck . The state of Hesse also gives financial grants. Despite the denominational sponsorship, people of all faiths have the opportunity to study at EH-Darmstadt.

In the summer semester 2011, the name was changed to the current name.

The EHD is a member of the Hesse Universities of Applied Sciences .
