Ezequiel Barco (born March 29, 1999 in Villa Gobernador Gálvez , Santa Fe Province ) is an Argentinian football player . He has been playing in Major League Soccer for the US soccer franchise Atlanta United since 2018 .
Club career
Ezequiel Barco learned to play soccer with the Asociación Atlética Jorge Bernardo Griffa , which was founded by the former Argentinian national soccer player Jorge Griffa . In 2015 he was accepted into the youth academy of CA Independiente , a year later he was promoted to the squad of the first team.
He made his professional debut on August 25, 2016 in the first leg of the second round of the Copa Sudamericana at CA Lanús , replacing Cristian Rodríguez in the 74th minute in his team's 0-2 away win . Barco was also used in the following three games of his team in this competition, which had to admit defeat in the round of 16 Chapecoense . At the Copa Sudamericana in the following year , the CA Independiente reached the title. Barco took part in the finals of his team with two goals and two assists. In the first leg of the final , which was contested against Flamengo Rio de Janeiro from Brazil , Barco provided the template for his team's 2-1 winning goal, which Maximiliano Meza scored. In the second leg , Barco converted a penalty after a foul on Meza to the 1-1 final score, which was enough for his club to win the title.
At the beginning of 2018, Barco moved to the United States and joined Atlanta United in Major League Soccer . He made his debut for the Georgia franchise on April 16, 2018 in a 2-2 draw in the league game against New York City FC with a substitution in the 70th minute for Kevin Kratz .
National team
Barco has played for the U-20s of the Argentine Association since 2017 . For this he played for the first time on January 19, 2017 at the U-20 South American Championship in the game against the U-20s of Peru and was called up for the entire season.
