Fez (prefecture)

Fez ( Arabic عمالة فاس, Tamazight : ⵜⴰⵎⵖⵓⵔⵜ ⵏ ⴼⴰⵙ) is a prefecture in Morocco . It has belonged to the Fès-Meknes region (previously Fès-Boulemane ) since the administrative reform of 2015 and is located in the center of the country between the Rif Mountains and the Middle Atlas . The prefecture has 977,946 inhabitants (2004).
